One of the main reasons as to why martial artists would meditate is simply because they would want to harness their inner chi. So while meditating, one has to imagine that there is energy flowing throughout his entire body and is going to his hands and feet.
Now as for the session that is done after the exercises, it is similar but with some differences. Now the purpose of the one after is to relax the body. After the martial arts lesson, one will lie down instead of sitting down. He will be assuming a position that is commonly known as the relaxation pose.
